Understand estimated and actual travel time and distance calculations

Understand how travel time and distance are calculated for the Job Allocations object.

Overview

The Estimated Travel Time and Estimated Travel Distance fields on the Job Allocations object can be used to compare estimated travel time and distance against the actual values.

When the resource starts traveling by tapping Start Travel and the job allocation status is updated to En Route, this also sets the Estimated Travel Time and Estimated Travel Distance fields.

The Estimated Travel Distance and the Travel Distance are calculated differently on the Job Allocations.

Field label Description
Estimated Travel Distance This field is calculated from the resource’s location where they tapped Start Travel in the Skedulo mobile app to the job’s geolocation.
Travel Distance This field is calculated based on location tracking data from the Skedulo mobile app, from the resource’s location where they tapped Start Travel to the location where they tapped Check In.
