Skedulo Plus Product Extension - Create follow-up job
Overview
While working on a job, resources may need to create another job to follow up on the current one. The new job would need similar information but would be at a different time and may require a different resource. This extension allows resources to create a follow-up job.
Prerequisites
- Administrators can install and configure mobile extensions.
- Skedulo Plus app is enabled.
- The
skedulo-extension/create-follow-up-jobs
package has been installed in your team. Contact your Customer Service Representative for more information about getting this extension installed.
Make the Create follow-up jobs form available on the mobile app
After your Skedulo CSR installs the exension in your team, it will be available in the Mobile extensions list. From there you can make changes if needed, or install it to make it available to resources on the Skedulo Plus mobile app.
To install the Create follow-up jobs extension, do the following steps:
- In the web app settings, navigate to Mobile app configurations > Mobile extensions.
- Click on the Create follow-up jobs extension name.
- Click Install. The extensions will be available on the mobile app within a few minutes.
If required, some changes can be made to the extension before it is installed. For details on what can be edited, please see the user guide article.
Access the extension (form) on the Skedulo Plus mobile app
To access the form after it has been installed, do the following steps:
- In the mobile app, navigate to a job that is In Progress or Completed. The form will appear on the job details screen.
Note
Note that the extension is accessible only when the job has a status of In Progress or Completed. If resources try to open the extension when the job has any other status, then a “Form not available” screen displays.Create a follow-up job using the Create follow-up job extension
To create a follow-up job in the mobile app, do the following steps:
- On the job details screen, tap the Create a follow-up job form option.
- Fill in the form.
- Tap Save.
Note
If the “Assign to myself” toggle is turned on, the newly created job will automatically be assigned to the current resource. Admin users can configure the behavior from the webapp settings as described below.Prevent resources from assigning follow-up jobs to themselves
To control whether a resource can assign a follow-up job to themselves when creating a job using the Create follow-up job extension, do the following:
- In the Skedulo web app, navigate to Settings > Scheduling > Jobs.
- Click to uncheck the Allow resources to assign themselves on follow-up jobs checkbox. The Assign to myself toggle will not appear on the Create a follow-up job extension in the mobile app.
Allow resources to assign follow-up jobs to themselves
If the Assign to myself toggle is hidden and you want to enable it, do the following steps:
- In the Skedulo web app, navigate to Settings > Scheduling > Jobs.
- Click to enable the Enable follow-up jobs and Allow resources to assign themselves on follow-up jobs options.
If the Use details from the initial job toggle is turned on, the new job will inherit the same custom field values as the current job.
After the follow-up job is created, you’ll see that the current job now has a follow-up. If you selected the Assign to myself toggle while creating it, you can click on the badge to go directly to the new job.
